Default Invidia Exhaust Question

What can be done to quiet the Invidia exhaust down just a little bit? Is there another silencer or resonator that you can purchase that would do the trick?

Bought mine with a test pipe (havn't installed it yet), hear that it brings the droan down in the cabin.
Then again, also hear the exhaust gets louder.

What exactly are you trying to quiet down about the exhaust?
Have you broken it in yet?

If not, give it about 500 - 1000 miles to build up some carbon, might tone it down some.

I bought a 3" Vibrant Resonator, I ordered the 14th and its still not here, if it doesnt come in the next few days I would say don't order it, but if it does, Ill install it and let you know . Once the carbon builds up, it will make a huge difference. I still think its a little bit loud, when cold out, and I have a Turbo, so N/A I would probably kill myself

After I installed a Berk TP the exhaust got less noisy. Really the sound is still there, but the TP reduces the drone in the 3500-4000 rpm range. It really helps a lot. Of course I only install mine on track days

Has anyone noticed the V3 Invidia to be quieter than other versions of the Invidia. My friends V2 sounds way quieter, could the 70mm piping be affecting this in any way?

There really isn't much you can do, all light weight, big pipe, N1 muffler, type cat backs are gonna be loud. Silencers/bafflers make them sound like shit. Larger mid pipe resonators seem to help a little but space is tight there (notice how HKS tilted their oval resonator). Header wrapping the piping cat to muffler seems to work for some guys. It comes down to your choice of exhaust, if you want a purr, get a kitten, not a lion.

if there is less drone with a tp, i would hate know. installed tp first then the 70mm single so i don't know how it sounds with a cat, but with the top up the drone is a killer with my 70mm header back single...

Invidia drone is infamous. If you want less drone, the general consensus is that a test pipe will help. But if you wanna make it quieter in general, then you bought the wrong exhaust. Try the silencers maybe? But then again, the silencers might make the drone even worse. I remember reading a member who replaced the resonator with another one and said it sounded much better

i have heard from numerous sources that the resonator is the best idea to keep down the drone. I don't mind the loud exhaust sound, i just want to keep the drone to a minimum when i am taking a road trip. Thanks to all of you for the info that you have provided.

the silencers do help w/drone and overall loudness, and imo don't make it sound all that bad/different (just quieter).

they don't look all that attractive (i painted mine flat black, so they wouldn't stand out as much). i only use them on the rare occasion when i take a long road trip.

hope this helps
