Default Invidia Q300 burning bumper AP1

Does anyone have a fix or know a way to stop the exhaust tip burns from the Invidia q300 exhaust?

I took my AP1 up some mountains and all the hard turns shifted the exhaust around to where it taps the bumper and then subsequently burns it by the exhaust openings...

Also, are those tips removable? Maybe smaller tips would be an easier fix?

Thanks!!

I have the same problem with my exhaust. The tips are touching the lower edge of my bumper and parts of it are a little melted lol. I think some adjustment would fix it...

I recently installed one on a local's car and he had the same issue. It seems to shift with ease. His exhaust hangars (rubber pieces) were a little worn, so I told him to get new ones. When he does, I will report back with the results.

thanks for the tips guys. Yeah i think some adjustments should help but I've read other threads where they shave down the Y pipe? don't see how that would help much. Others, mod their hangers so the exhaust is lower, but my car is already lowered so i don't want a scraper... lol

Are the exhaust tips removable? I haven't had a chance to get a good look at them, but I didn't see a bolt holding them in, they looked welded?

dc2- looking forward to your findings. I'm pretty sure my hangars were beat up... But I only have issues when I take hard turns, mixed with tons of VTEC... usually don't burn my bumper cruising in the city..

I haven't taken a careful neither but if my memories serve me correctly, they are pretty firmly welded together. I plan on just letting it melt a little as long as the tips don't cause any burn marks (black) on my bumper I am fine with it lol.

I think shaving the y pipe is a great idea. Doing that will essentially bring the mufflers closer to the center of the opening. Only problem is if you shave too much off, you will burn the inside.

Hmm... interesting. Didn't think of it that way..

I wonder how much that would cost for a shop to do.

I did exactly this while installing mine. When I test fitted everything together it just didn't look right - the tips were spread too far apart. I think I prob took off 1/2" on each side. Looks much better. I could prob take another 1/8 off the right side - maybe if I get bored one day I'll do it.

Really looks much better.

Is this problem for single or dual?

I just got my single Q300. I heard you need AP1 exhaust hangers to get a better fitment. I want to know whether I need to buy AP1 exhaust hanger for my AP2 or just stick with what's on the car right now so I can avoid burning.

ap1 hangers or 2 hole hangers work best
