Talking IRP Short Shifter?

Hey guys, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum. However, I've recently seen a decent amount of people running the IRP short shifters in their e46/e92 m3's. Checked out their site and saw that they make it for Honda's but not the s2k. Wanted to know what you guys think of it, and if you guys would consider getting one if it was available.

If it doesn’t rattle like it does in the frs/brz, sure.

I think it only works for cable shifters though, no?

I know it's mentioned here there and everywhere - but the shifter in the s2000 is quite fab as it is. I'm not sure I'd mess with it. I've been driving manuals for 2 decades and have put very expensive short shifters in many vehicles - currently have a phenomenal Eurocode SS in my Audi S4 that I paid a pretty penny for and truly love but it's not as good as the stock Shifter in the S2000...

Yeah looking at all of the shifters they offer it seems they only function with cable or linkage actuation and not direct lever like our trans. Plus given the size of the mechanical bits and the lack of a real mounting solution without drilling into the car I don't think this will happen.

I can attest it is a very nice piece. I bought one for my brother-in-laws FRS last year and he's been loving it ever since. It does have a rattle at high RPM but I think that's platform-specific to the FRS/BRZ with their trans design and configuration. It's an awesome piece of hardware and an absolute blast to manipulate. I even told him I bought it more for me than him as I was just curious what the hell it would be like. Not disappointed even though it's not mine.

No way I would replace the oem shifter setup on this car. The transmission and shift feel is one of its best attributes. Aftermarket would have more chance at making it worse in my opinion.

"Let's change the shifting feel of the Honda S2000"

- Said no one ever.

I drived only manual transmission cars all my life and never had such a great shift feeling as in the S2000. No need for a short shifter.

However, there is a decent looking short shifter for the S2000 available: https://www.axialflow.com/products.htm#ss1
