Yup looks like it was installed in correctly for some time causing that to get deformed. They do not come like that new.

I have seen a number of these intakes and never seen one like that.

It just doesn't seem like there is enough pressure from the intake piping to bend a coupler like that. But what do I know.

I'll keep an eye on it and see if I notice any changes over time.

Id just buy another coupler. If you look at installed pics of that intake I haven't seen any with a bend in the coupler.

I've had both the original Comptech intake and the revised CT engineering one, and neither of them had a coupler like that.

I've had mine in since '06 and it doesn't look like that.

It's been installed wrong.

Been a while since I ran this one. The coupler is symmetric from the factory; but your not alone. The elastomer (rubber) will cook off some oils over time and take a set. There is quite a bit of variation int the mounting point of the stock air box relative to the Throttle body. The PWJDM intake has the same issue. Remove the bolts hard mounting the air box. Get a new coupler and install it so the intake throat and TB are in line. Now reach under the CF air box and mark the lower hole ( bottom of air box). Redrill the hole. You may also have to move the one in the fender a bit (egg it into an oblong shape).

It's to clear a strut bar. I thought they all came like that. The PO of mine swapped out the stepped coupler for the straight one.

Yours is installed sideways. Hand banana (....) above has it installed correctly. With that said, swapping it out for a straight one if you don't have a strut bar is definitely a good idea.

I'm not sure why people are saying the coupler would move that much... There would be serious issues if silicone in your bay could move and retain shape inches away from its original form.
