Default js carbon v hood

ok so i am wondering what is the difference between the js authentic v type hood and the replica vis makes? I think i just answered my own question, but is there fitment issues with the replica or just the same?

best to stick with original parts...(js racing) the fitment, weight and construction will be noticeably better...i never go with replicas, you get what you pay for!

there is no replica of the j's type V hood, there is a replica of the mugen ss hood which is similar. and there's also a replica of the top secret hood that vis makes but it has 4 vents on each side instead of 3

but anyway i've had 2 seibon mugen style hoods now..fitment is like oem once you spend the time to adjust it. seibon has really stepped up the quality recently.

i heard that seibon turns yellow within 6 to 12 months of purchase, have you had a good experience with yours?

Clear coat it at a body shop so it doesnt turn yellow, that is a good practice with CF parts.

I have an authentic j's V & let me tell you its the weave & fitment that standout the most between replicas & the real deal. Usually JDM hoods are 1x1 & the weave is tight. Fitment is very close to OEM, there are no large gaps between the bumper/fender & hood.

The replicas are heavier while the JDM are close to stock (stock is lite to begin with).

Yeah, they are definately expensive, but you get what you pay for. As far as getting a OEM carbon hood what brand do you guys recommend? I have heard good things about VIS.

^^
i've had bad experiences with VIS. i've gotten a lip and good from them before and yes they end up turning yellow fast and the quality is not as good as you'd expect. From VIS when the parts arrived at my door their were cracks in some places and keep in mind they wrapped up the products nicely but anyways if they stepped up their quality i say go for it.. i also hear seibon is way better than VIS but like people are saying you get what you pay for and going with the JDM hood will be better fitment/quality wise
