Default J's Racing Tsuchinoko intake vs AEM V2

Hi, any of u guys have tried both intakes ? Pls advice. I am currently with J's racing type s bumper with aem v2...wonder if j's intake will improve my performance other than lowering the risk of hydrolocking. Any advice will be appreciated.. Thks.

I'd stick with the V2. I'm sure the midrange gain(resonance) of the CAI would kill the J's in the midrange.

I've had the J's racing, and AEM V1.

On the Dyno:
AEM V1 with Spoon header and exhaust = 228hp
J's Racing c/f intake with Spoon header and exhaust =220hp

Real World Driving:
AEM would bog around 3-4k rpms during summer heat off the line.
J's Racing intake never bogged and felt slightly more pep at speeds and never bogged.

Sound:
AEM V1 sounded awesome since there is an open filter
J's Racing sounds OEM practically

CARB Legal:
AEM = Yes
J's = No

Overall I liked both intakes, preferred the look of the J's no doubt, and I honestly felt that It had slightly better gains at speeds. But the price is a bit much....its all about what you want. The AEM is just not good looking in the engine bay, the J's looks oh sooo sweeet.

performance wise inmho isn't going to yield much of a difference if any between the two, so in this case I'd probably pick the cooler looking one so I guess the j's racing

but then again the op was inquiring about the aem v2 as opposed to the v1 so the gains might be a little different but nice gains nonetheless.

Typo on my part, fixed it. Dyno numbers were actually not as horrible. Only about a 10hp difference.

No dyno from the factory. But AEM V2 should show more gains than a V1, in which my case gained more on a dyno than the J's

But in real world driving conditions I still "felt" the J's as the better intake

Thks for the advice from everyone so far...what do u mean by real world driving conditions? n how is it better? I'm surprised V2 is better in performance...isnt the type s bumper inlet n the radiator cover made for the j's intake which together will work well? My friend is selling the j's intake n cf radiator cover to me at half price..thats why considering...
