I installed a K&N FIPK yesterday, my previous setup was the stock intake tube and filter with no box

I like the K&N, the sound is the same as before, which is why I didnt want to just replace the factory air box, now I have power and sound

It doesnt necessarily feel any faster, just more responsive, especially at low speeds.

I should be getting a J's 60RS in the next few weeks, I hope to feel some increased power with it.
j's 60 rs gives me gains i can feel from the butt-o-meter. frees up the top end nicely. And makes a decent nuisance of noise

I got mine off amazon, was the cheapest I could find.
I believe they were going for $200 shipped right? I remember that deal.

i got this instead of the vafc because this saves gas in general, apparently vafc only saves gas on WOT... which is kinda counter productive.

also this makes a very cool sound. not sure that it really does improve the butt dyno but i dont know since i never dyno'd my car

Definitely get the vafc if you can go get it tuned afterwards. Will get more gains for sure with the vafc. I have the FIPK and love it, but not really much of a gain. The vafc, if tuned well can show some really nice gains. Got my vafc for $125 shipped including the plug and play harness. That is a good bit cheaper than usual, but there are good deals all the time.

Neither, but it does have a nice sound, which by itself makes the purchase worth it

I would have to disagree. My butt dyno, told me a little more low end power, right before vtec. It felt like a very slight torque bump. But that went away after my first drive with it installed. It sure does sound wild in vtec though.

I did notice that it seems to have a litle bit more power but that might be my imagination, im not sure if you can really feel an extra 5 horsepower.
The biggest difference I can feel is in response,
it seems to respond a lot quicker than it used to.

Loves me my set-up but not too keen on the filtering ability of the K&N. I decided to go with the AEM DryFlow for a little piece of mind. The AEM is also washable with no oiling hassles. Best of both?
