sure but with such a labor intensive job costing $$$$ why not have them throw a new clutch, PP and throwout bearing in there. I would hold off installing the flywheel until you need to replace all the parts in there or you'll pay for one job 2 times in the end.

You can use OEM clutch and pressure plate with a light flywheel.

yeah, it's a big pita to do yourself and you'd certainly wouldn't want to do it twice and if you paid somebody else to do it the labor, the cost for an additional tranny drop for clutch/flywheel change is the cost of a clutch anyways. you have a 2000 ap1 and if the original owner(s) stayed NA then you probably have the original clutch in there too. it's better to eat the extra cost now rather than later...

AP1 is 12lbs, ap2 is 22...roughly. I have an ap1 and just the 4lbs I lost is very noticeable. I love it.

What? That doesn't make any sense. You're trying to say that AP1 to AP2, the weight nearly doubled?

Is that a mistype?

Extra weight was used to keep the ap2 in the shorter vtec band longer.

like istdercollen said dont just get a flywheel get a pp and a clutch, so if you was going to install a flywheel then the clutch goes... you dont have to pay another labor fee to get the clutch installed
