Default Lightened flywheel + NON-clutch buzzing clutch!

So after 2 excruciating days of bruising knuckles and cuts all over the place, along with brake fluid in my face etc etc etc (the typical car working stuff), I FINALLY got the clutch, PP and lightened flywheel in. I bought it from BRAKEOPTIONS (double thumbs up for them...the PP i purchased was from exedy, which btw had the HONDA stamp still on it at 1/2 the price of a dealer PP. The flywheel, the chromoly lightened one, has a slight whine, but other than that the setup is perfect.

Now, my question is this: From AP1 to AP2, I know they lightened the pedal feel - did they do this with a differently sprung pressure plate? I swear to god I feel like I'm driving a sedan isntead of a sports car. Its not BAD, but its just different and I'm wondering if it was because of the PP or because all the grease on all the trans fittings was busted. Anyone who had both the ORIGINAL AP1 00,01 that went to a newer model have any experiences with this?

I feel like my car is totally new now! engagement is perfectly in the center, the lightened flywheel (lighter than the AP1) is amazing! Haven't tested the grabbing capabilities of the flwheel/pp (OEM disk) for launches, as I'm still breaking it in..but will report back.

Exedy OEM s2000 clutch kit + lightened chromoly . i know brakeoptions has been getting a rough time with whatever is going on in the cmopany, but just wanted to say thanks for the great parts + price. Definitely not regretting the purchase!

OEM Exedy makes the petal feel very smooth and light weight. More than OEM Honda even. The difference is not the PP, but the disk has double springs instead of OEM single spring.

pressure plate dictates the pedal feel.

^Fine, then the OEM Exedy PP & double springs on the disk make the petal ultra smooth and lighter than OEM. Point being is the only visible difference from Exedy & Honda is the disk.

Also, Spoon Non-asbestos clutch & PP are same as OEM Exedy.

The ap2 PP is weaker in feel and in holding over the 00-01 PP. This is what you are experiencing. I made the mistake of ordering a ap2 oem pressure plate for my friction disk when doing a f22 swap, wont make that mistake again. Be nice to the clutch, it wont hold as well as your original ap1, the reduced weight of the flywheel will help offset this a bit however, but for me being FI it was a bad move. I have to be very careful about my shifting especially in the upper gears where there is much more load, fighting between the power and the drag on the car at speed. Ap2 clutch cant hold shit compared to 00-01 version.

^Interesting you experienced this. I checked http://www.bernardiparts.com/ for the pressure plate and found this part # 22300-PCX-015. Then I checked what year s2ks it was used for said it was used on 00-09 models. Normally if a part is superseded it will show the old part # it is replacing. In this case it did not show anything. I've never heard of ap2 clutches being weaker than ap1. Do you have any more information to this regard?

i found that the newer clutches were much softer than my original clutch for my MY2000.

I hate the light feeling now.

it's probably just a sound he couldn't hear before with the chainsaw buzz clutch that used to be in the car.
