Didn't realize the diff is THAT big.

Anyway, the revs certainly do drop a tad quicker on the F20c than on the F22c. But it didn't feel like it's a 8.5lb diff.

Because of the high engine speeds most people will shy away from taking material off the factory flywheel.

There are several aftermarket flywheels that are known to be structurally safe readily available in the market place.

If you do remove material remember the closer to the outside edge the greater the effect.

ap1> ap2 again

Kidding although its nice to have the lighter wheel oem if your into any sort of auto x or tracking. Heavy flywheels are for old men that cant shift fast enough

yes ap1 will fit into ap2.

flywheels are balanced.
I would not try to shave a little weight off, as it would probably throw off the balance, causing other damage to crankshaft, transmission parts etc. besides performance loss.

a reputable machine shop with this type of exp should be consulted.

lighter flywheel = best mod i've had on an S to date. Go for it, but I would suggest if your changing it then go with a lighter aftermarket one. I had Toda and it imprved the car throughout the entire powerband. City driving was still normal unlike what people may say, and the rpms didn't drop super fast. They climbed faster, and dropped a little uicker, but did not effect comfort. Get a good shop to do the install and you will be fine.
