I looked at couple of threads and i have been talking to my friends... thinking about dropping the car an inch i have never done this before....my friend told me to get some springs.
but i have heard if i use springs and not changed the shocks it'll ruin them!!!
but the same time i don't want to spend too much since i just bought the car and have to make payments

i also have a warranty on the car will it cause problems if i lower it!!?

i was looking to get some TEIN S.Tech springs if they are good for performance and ride quality!!??

Normally cars don't have as much research and development throw into them with performance as their primary function. The S2000 was built for enthusiast and attempts to be the best out of the box package for a sportscar from Honda.

The suspension is pretty much as low as it needs to be without compromising the geometry or stability of the car. Before I get flamed this is my opinion.

This is not to say that you couldn't improve the suspension with some great coilovers, better springs, sway bars, tower bars, braces, etc... but I'm not entirely sure that dropping it would do anything for the performance as it would be an improvement on the look and styling of the car depending on your own personal preference.

Expect camber problems and heavy tire wear on the inside if you drop it. In high school I slammed my 5th gen prelude, and though it was a lot of fun being a half inch off the ground... it was a lot of work, and very costly to maintain.

IMHO i wouldnt just go with a lowering spring for a s2000. it handles amazing out of the box like it is. a spring will only hurt performance in the long run by most likely ruining ur struts.

if your going to lower your car get a complete coilover. or a GOOD strut spring setup. and remember to get an allignment afterwords or dropping ur car so it looks better... will not help performance at all

from what i know ..
springs with 1" drop should reduce (some) body roll
dropping more than 1" all around is a NO no.
stiffer ride (could be better/worse depending what you like)
1" drop with springs *shouldnt make your stock shocks go bad
do not go with tein S-tech's, go with Eibach or Swift springs.


thats what i could think of on the top of my head.
i was about to purchase some springs, so this is from my research .
ended up going with kw v2 coilovers.

everyone i've seen with springs the front looks like a truck but the back did a nice drop.

 

Ive got the neuspeed sport springs. Supposed to be a 1.25 drop all around. I got the drop i was looking for...as far as performance id say the car feels about the same which is actually what i wanted.

However i've been on them for a bout 10k now and my car seems to be beginning to ride a lil rougher than it used to. Not bad or anything but its just beginning to be a lil noticeable to me. Whenever my oem's blow ill just get coilovers.... therefore Id recommend to just get them from the start and save the hassle.
