Lowering question
Ok just bought a spa yellow 01 s2k about 3 months ago. So far all i got was a nice set of staggered driftz 505's on it. Ok i got 8 inch wheels in the back sittin on a 230/45 tire and i wanna lower it. Tire is a lil wide in the back if i hit a bump hard enough it will tap the fenders in the back a bit or if i take a corner faster than normal. Anyone have any ideas or do i need to go with a not so wide tire or a more low profile of one? Thanks

wheel size would help and offset.. maybe then i can help ???
Sounds like you need to roll your fenders in the rear or possibly use a 225 series tire? You need to get us a bit more info to give you a educated answer.
Take the wheel off and see if there are any stickers or stamps on the wheel.

first off here some facts:
245 is the OEM size for rear, 235 is not wide at all nor it's it's the proper size.
just to give you some scale, i am running a set of forge front with 8 inch and 9 inch rear without any fitment.rubbing issue.
my offset being 50ish in front and 63et in rear(have to check but they are not far off), which links me to think that your friend recommended you some wheel with poor offset fitment.

part two:
sorry to say this but running a wrong offset wheel in s2k= bad for handling
some people get away with it by adding camber, shaving the quarter panel.
but since you can't even clear 235 tires, you might as well sell it and get something properly made for our car. it's a common mistake, i brought my car thinking i can use all the old school jdm 25et wheels on mine too.
you can check the ET by removing the wheel, it should be written/casted down some where, look for ET/OFFSET

In this case he has chosen a wheel that does not have the best offsets but easily workable with a smaller rear tire, which yes is not the correct size but will work in none the less.
a 225 will be fine in your case. Yes it may not be perfect in everyones mind but has been shown to work over and over in S2ki previous posts.
Here is something to consider. If you are only rubbing over bumps and certain cornering times you may wan to roll your fenders flush and get a UK spec alignment with -2 + of negative camber, this should solve your rubbing issues and not make you buy new tires.
Most people will say.........."buy a wheel with the correct offset", but in all actuality we work with what we have............My life's story........I am Asian
