Default Lug Nutes

So, I picked up some xxr 518's for my s2000 but when I get to install them I ran into a problem. My stock lug nuts fit but there was no room for my impact socket wrench. Any suggestions on what lug nuts I can use? I would prefer some with locks.

Thanks

Oscar

most aftermarket wheels are tapered seat so you arent suppose to use oem lug nuts which are ball seat.

i would double check that first.

heres a good picture

You cannot use your stock lugnuts even if they would go in the holes. You need taper seat lugnuts. Cheap but decent quality would be Gorilla Nuts. You can find them on E-bay or alot of tire/wheel shops sell them. Something like this -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-GORILLA-S...d1a671&vxp=mtr

My favorite lug nut is McGard's spline drives. The tapered seat freely spins so it does not gall the aluminum on the wheels. I have a three sets between two cars (gold, black, chrome) and they're not that expensive.

Seems like the tuner lugs aren't as thick and thus are able to be torqued nicely due to their extension(lock?) socket.

also a bit of advice, i wouldn't use an impact gun on my lug nuts. id recommend picking up a torque wrench. lug nuts should be torqued to ~80lbs.

I would just get some lug nuts that uses a hex key or star key that way you dont have to worry about scratching your rims.

Muteki, gorilla, or most any aftermarket lug should work with your wheels. And yeah do not use an impact on them get a torque wrench and torque to 80 ft lbs.

While the 2 piece design is nice, I broke 2 pretty easily just hand tightening. They never once saw an impact wrench. Just fyi
