Default Moving the rearview mirror

[I'm editing the pre-amble out because I posted the results later.]

I'm 6'7. My eyes and the rearview mirror are at the same level, which means the mirror hides lots of useful traffic information. I can live with it, but it's not great. I found out that I love having an unobstructed view out the windshield, so I asked here for suggestions for moving the rearview mirror. Scroll down a bit, and you'll see how I mounted a third-party mirror to the windshield frame.

A friend of mine has a lotus elise and a little while back, had the windscreen replaced for free as we're in the car industry.

The guy replacing the screen had good banter and we struck up a rapport, on replacing the windscreen, he placed the mirror offset towards the top of the passenger side of the screen in order to give a revised field of fiew.

My friend did, eventually, move it back to retain the oe look in the car, however it might be worth trying.

what kind of broadway mirror do you have? i know i have one in my car which is your basic broadway mirror which is like 250mm i think. but theres a convex option where you can pretty much see everything. it gets a bit of getting used to. i saw a huge difference in view. might want to try that out?

i say you try to move it over to the passenger side as previously stated. i actually had that same idea as i was reading you post. sounds like a good idea that i might try out as well. also look into getting the lower seat mount as that will help with some issues as well. im tall like you and it helped me out a little bit.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just put the mirror back where it was because I had no time for anything else, but I like the idea of moving it to the right a lot. Once I get around to doing that, I'll report here.

PS: The seat is lowered about 1.75", which made my life a lot easier.

Honestly, I've considered it.
