Default Mugen Header + Invidia Duel Exhaust

Hi, I already have a invidia duel exhaust and would like to pair it with a mugen header, has anyone come across this setup before? or would know anyone with this setup?

Will this header/exhaust combo give me gains over the stock header?

thanks.

I have the invidia dual and 70mm test pipe. From what I have read, as I was about to get a header a few months ago, you really have to pick your battle on this one.

You can pay like $600 for the ricks and get a few HP, same with Invidia header. Or you can pony up and drop the $1350 for the J's.

For me it came down to this. I wasn't sure what power adder I was going to go with, S/C or turbo, it was gonna depend on what kit I could find the cheapest when I was ready to buy. So the $1350 header didn't make as much sense to me, b/c even if I went S/C that $600 premium would be better spent on engine management or gears.

On the other hand, if you are STRICTLY staying N/A AND want the max HP out of your car, you have to go with the Js.

Otherwise, if you are staying N/A and want to do a few other mods, or may be going FI in the future, just find a Ricks or Invidia and use the $600 you save on a Greddy Emanage Ult and harness or a nice set of rear gears, both of which will be WAY more bang for your buck than the few extra ponies the J's header will get you.

Hope this helps.

Then do it for sure, worse comes to worse you should be able to get back what you paid for it.

The Mugen is made for mid-range gains -- you won't gain anything in peak power, but you will get a nice midrange gain and some weight savings. The J's Racing header gets the best overall gains, and has the biggest collecter diameter (65mm, so it would match up the best to your 70mm exhaust), but if you can get a good deal on the Mugen, you really won't notice the difference btw that and the J's for daily driving.

personally i wouldnt want anything that loses high end in an s2k, this car was made for revving the hell out of it, making all its power in the top, where, if your trying to go fast, your spending almost all your time in the high end anyways, so you wouldnt ever even see those mid range gains anyways

Are you serious? Unless your car is a track only car, or you just beat the piss out of your street car, you will see midrange gains far more often.

The Mugen header makes its power btw 3k-7k, and nobody said it loses high end power. If you're really driving above 7k all the time, you will either blow up your engine or rear end somebody really soon, in which case it won't matter that you picked up 5whp at the top of your rev range.

If your car is a track-only car, though, then I see your point.

both engines are well built to handle 8.5k+ w/mild n/a mods. mid range sounds good but you want forcus on the 5-8.5k range if you are n/a. the ap2 engine doesn't pick up much mid range without lowering the vtec and retuning the a/f.
