Default mugn hardtop

I saw this hardtop on a Turbo magazine a couple months back, it's the Mugen knock-off. It says it comes with the intall kit and plexi glass. The site is Aerokits.net. I was wondering if anybody actually bought this. Any modding/shaving involved? I myself don't like buying knock-off parts, just curious on how the fitment sits.

i bought it from IIGQ4U on here. mine was the cf one.

it fits perfect.
the window install was a DISASTER. the rear rubber he/they give you is far too small. i paid a window guy $80 to reinstall with his molding/glue.

mods involved for my "perfect fit" were just a washer on the striker.

my experience ordering from and dealing with him was VERY unpleasant though. i suggest you go with someone else.

aerokit's price of $999 for the fiberglass is good.

basically, you'll need some rubber molding, easily ordered from a catalog.
you'll need your latches from the soft top, or 2 new ones.
you'll need 2 metal plates made or purchased that will hold the top to the car, next to the seats. (left and right)
you'll need to have the window installed, or DIY.

ta-da. now go get it painted.

Someone help him out, seriously. There is a thread in here all about hardtops that were made for the S2. If you took your time to look at the Mugn(knock-off) Ht, you'll see the resemblance of the original Mugen Ht. I'm not trying to put you on blast. Just like how Ebay sells those Tein S. tech springs that are knock-offs. Coming from Tein themselves.

if TEIN makes them how are they knock offs?

I'm willing to bet that Mugen doesn't make this mugn hardtop. Especially for 1K with install kit and plexiglass.

http://www.aerokits.net/cart/index.php?mai...roducts_id=2252

all the info present on this site is pictures. doesn't say anything about mounting hardware or glass. looks like a nice knockoff for a grand. i still only like the oem style though. too bad nobody has a cheap knockoff of the oem version...

I don't know about this hardtop but I bought a carbon fiber VIS through Fred's groupbuy and it fits perfectly. The quality is very good. Also I've got the rear window and the seals from Javier (chairmanoftheboard). The whole deal was great. I think it's still going right now. Just PM Gunshow (Fred).
