Default My s2k with seat locks finally installed!

So i ordered a set of these SEAT LOCKS from online, and i finally got a chance to install them with a break in the weather....the fit is GREAT.

You can definalty see the quality of the lock itself. What i like best is the locks use different keys.

The install was easy too, i removed the seat bolt,
Here i placed the collar over the hole and reinserted the bolt.

I then put the lock cylinder over the collar and used the key to lock it.

Here is my seat in the normal position, you can barely see it!

Overall i am happy! The lock is rock solid and thick too. Lock has some weight to it. I am actually gonna order another set so i can cover both front bolts on each seat! That should prevent seat theft...sick of thieves selling our seats all over the web.

I didn't try it because i don't sit all the way forward. But you could use the lock in the back if thats a problem...which is cool

I didn't even know this type of lock existed. If I were to compare this lock to kodokan_4's lock I could see someone take a sledge hammer or something to break the lock off but maybe the construction of the lock is better.

Oh come on. Who carries a sledge hammer to break into a car.

imho,

these are a waste. so you think you saved yourself from getting your sealts stolen. well, lets realize for a moment that thieves are undesirable individuals. so the thief slashes your top to get into your car, cuase he wants your seat. he does this, so you need a new top anyways now, and he sees you have a seat lock. is he gonna

A. say oh shit i cant get that off and leave ROFL
B. say no this ****er didnt, and use the knife he slashed your top with and slash your seats, potentially even the car. <congrats you prevented a theft and created a vandalism, and you still need new seats = FAIL
C. say oh no this ****er didnt, and steal your whole damn car.

if you said A, your really wet behind the ears.

i had a car outside with nice wheels on it, nice steering wheel, and nice gauges. theif came one night broke in and took the steering wheel and gauges. the next day when i saw this, i said oh crap they might come back for my wheels, so i put 4 donuts on teh car and stored the wheels inside. that next moirning, the doniuts where still on the car, AS WELL AS EVERY WINDOW ON THE CAR WAS BUSTED IN.

i wonder why.

if you absolutely feel these will provide you with security then go ahead and do it, but i personally think its a waste.

get an alarm with prox sensors, so that way they atleast know while they approach your car that it has an alarm and will be more work to break into/steal then one that doesnt have it.

park in hi visibility areas with lots of light. park in locked garages if possible.

this car is pretty easy to steal, and manyu of the parts are desirable, so its a uphill battle.

I think your post is pretty ignorant and rude. It has been proven that layers of security works in keeping parts/vehicles safe.

1. If the seat locks are on it is going to take a heck of alot more time to get them out, which means exposing them futher than they want to.

2. I'd rather them slash my seats and buy some Clazzio seat covers that have to source another full set.

3. If its the entire car they are after all of the above won't stop a professional. In most cases they will just tow the thing.

4. If what your saying is true, you must leave your car unlocked to allow the thief easy access to your seats w/ out damaging the top???

I owned an ITR for 6 years and had to deal with theft beyond comprehension. I would hardly say they are a waste! GTFO!
