Default N02 (aka Nitrous) install, how?

Who: Your name
How: What type of kit (brand, dry/wet xxx shot, etc., price)
When: When did you get it installed/blow your engine ( )

I'm interested and the search function gave me nada about a DIY for this.

For people who have done this, what are the pros and cons, how much did it cost, what did you gain, and will you keep it on?

I want turbo power for slightly cheaper. I wont skimp on the safety stuff, so what would you guys reccomend?

so far, my list of parts are:
Bottle
misc. stainless lines
WOT switch <included in ZEX kit, which I am leaning towards...
Lean cutoff switch <where do I get this from? (does it come with ZEX kit?)
RPM Window switch <where do i get THIS from?
and how do I wire them up? Can I just wire the RPM window and the lean cutoff switch in line with a solenoid? how does this work?

Purge valve (not really safety but looks cool+more power...)
fuel pressure switch <Do I need a safety switch for that? will the stock fuel pump handle?
colder plugs

Im leaning towards a wet shot, but any info or suggestions otherwise is very appreciated.

also, where are you guys shooting your nitrous through? I have seen a picture of a guy shooting it through his intake manifold, one per each runner, and I have also seen it being shot through the intake elbow before the throttle body.

Stock engine, approaching 60K miles, will get oil analyzed before jumping on any deals for a kit (oil sent in to blackstone ).

~Main points,

What are the BIGGEST things I should be worried about?

What (safety) switches should I purchase if I do decide to head down this route?

If I do juice my car, I will make sure to do it RIGHT so I just need some info. :

Thanks,
Ike

Well i know for a dry shot you just have to tap the line into your inatke manifold or use the PCV valve inlet instead (easier). A direct port is going to be more complicated but as long as you dont get trigger happy an 85 shot should be fine on a stock motor. However, I would suggest going the route I did. Buy parts piece by piece and boost the bastard.

^lol, seriously? how much did it cost for your entire setup?

Im looking at what I need, reading a LOT about it, and so far its roughly around 1.5K for a decent system:

My List:

1)ZEX wet kit/direct port kit ~600+

2) RPM window switch, (zex) ~200

3) Lean Cut-off switch ~havent been able to find one

Ike...gonna move this to Modifications. If you do a write up on how to install a NO2 system, post it back up here and I'll sticky it.

^ haha. I priced it out sah, its roughly 3K.

Damn, i gotta throw in a couple hundred G's so I can say TOO SOON JUNIOR.

But seriously, i think the parts i listed will help if I ever decide to go FI instead of n20, since a lot of it is 'safety' for leaning out.

well hell dude if you wanted to make it safe and do it as cost efficiently as possible (for the nitrous setup) get bigger injectors, walbro fuel pump, bigger fuel rail, and a computer to tune it with. you should have a plentiful fuel map and the ability to adjust the fuel accordingly

NOS GET DOWN... isn't really made for stock cars. Nor is the S designed for it. that's a LOT of money for what you are going to get out of it. I've known a LOT of people to use NOS GET DOWN... and unless they were drag racing..... it wasn't all that great..

If you REALLY know what you are doing DIY - FI wouldn't cost you much more. and it would be more effective.
