Default Need Real/ helpful information

Ok here we go, I've searched and searched for information regarding DC5R seats in the s2000. I really want to change the oem seats out as I am not the biggest fan of leather seats. I really like the look of the DC5 seats but I understand they are not the ideal choice because they don't just fit in without having to do some thinking and modding. I would like to know if the seat itself is to wide for the s. When I say to wide, I'm saying will it get squashed when I shut the door if the seat is in the proper mounting location. I know I will have to have rails made, not really the issue. I just want to make sure they will fit where they are suppose to without hitting the door when it is shut.

thanks for any help. And please, do not comment "just buy some brides, etc." "won't work" "etc.

I like these seats and this is something that I really would like to try and any relevant information would be greatly appreciated.

Idk about dc5 but someone has put sti seats in a s before and looked ok. It was on here somewhere.

Def worth looking in to.
I like the s seats. Just wish it wasn't all leather.

I believe there are a few companies that make really nice seat covers for the s seats. Don't the dc5 seats come with side airbags? If so you should remove them. Does anyone make a block off plate for them? I have seen the recaro seats from the 99-00 si in a s.

I am wanting to use the JDM Recaros, they do not have SRS system. I am really just considering this set up because of the Rounded head area as opposed to the DC2 seat which has a squared head area. I will continue to research.

thanks

I'm pretty you can make any seat fit with customizations. But i think they'll be a lil wide especially up on top. You'll have trouble accessing the glove compartments. And from the looks on the pictures i've seen (recaro srd), looks like the head doesnt align with the S roll hoops. I could be wrong though cus the guy that put up the pictures was just test fitting. Of course these arent pictures of the Dc5 recaros but you could kind of make out that even the DC5 recaros would be too wide. I like DC5 recaros too, they'd have to be slimmer looking to match the S's sleek slim sportier interior look. If you happen to get a hold of some DC5 seats, test fit em for us othe s2k-ers to see too. Heres the link to the Recaros Srd's in an S, have a look for yourself..

idk about SRDs, but I have seen an s2k in person with recaro speeds which are pretty close to the same size i believe. They fit in but looked kinda weird because of the sqaured head with the round roll hoop.

yeah i agree thats why i'm interested in the DC5 seat. I have seen the link for the DC2 seat and was not impressed with what I saw. The guy really should have went one more step and actually put 2 bolts in to see how it lined up.

UPdate: I have completed my DC5R recaro seat installation and it was easier than previous thought. The glove box is still accessible and the beauty is that these seats lean forward. Anyways just thought i would share that they do officially fit in s2000.

I saw his other thread. He used Bride rails I think. Look at his profile and view his other threads, it's in there somewhere. I'm pretty sure it was from last week.

EDIT:

Found it. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/index.php...t&pid=21189470
