Default New Ceramic Coating

The shop that does the ceramic coating for us just got in some new coating material that allows them to do colors, so they wanted us to test them out for them... so, i decided to buy a crappy header for them to test, and get it coated, and see how the coating stands up to some abuse

I have two different autocrosses i'm going to this weekend, with about 5 hours of drivijng between them both, so it should get quite a thrashing.

For the color, i decided on Yellow

Here is what the header looked like when we got it...

Isn't it so pretty... and yellow... lol!

So, after ooohing and aaahhing at it for a bit, we decided to go ahead and throw it into the car today...

Here is what it looks like in its new home...

While the heatshield was out of the car, i wanted to go ahead and put some more shielding on it to not only make it look better, but to help block even more heat from the battery and a/c lines now that i didn't have the oem heatshield on the stock manifold anymore...

And then of course the finished pics with the heatshield back in place....

Now to see how it does this weekend during my racing-roadtrip weekend

yep, sure is the same header except now its on the car and purring... hehe. The car doesn't feel any different, but it sounds a bit different. Next week i have a dyno appt with another car, so i'll be throwing this on the dyno to see what it says, and see if maybe we can get a bit more out of the car since the last time it hit the machine...

Eric: Yea, the celanliness thing will be big... gotta keep it clean after working around the car, such as wiping it off before you start it. I can imagine that it will stain rather easily... but <shrug> we'll see, thats the purpose of me testing it out for the coater.

Sup man

Looks nice and everything but why did you decide to go with the dc sports header? I did some searching and its well proven that the header loses power. Anyways let us know what you dyno at.

^ he's not really testing the header he's testing the coating. my understanding is that the DC is a cheapo header that no one gives a shit about probably why
