Default New Clutch..?

I am looking to replace my clutch as it's slipping pretty bad when I'm in vtec.. I have no plans on ever racing the car.. and am trying to decide whether or not to upgrade it at least a little.. I do want that stock pedal or close to that at least.. and don't want to spend a whole lot of money.. but it needs to be done.. Any suggestions on what brand of clutch I should get or just use an OEM clutch.. Also was curious if it was worth doing a flywheel and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated..!

Thanks,

Just get an oem clutch with a resurfaced oem AP1 flywheel. No need for an upgraded clutch if not racing and staying NA. AP1 flywheel is about 14 lbs and AP2 is 21 or so I believe can't remember exact weight for AP2.

Do you like how your car drives currently? If so, keep everything the same. If you want to change it up a little, do what everyone says and get a lighter flywheel, either AP1 or a different brand.

Are you the anal type? Are you rough on your car? Those questions are important to if you should change the pressure plate as well, or just reuse the OEM one and change the clutch disk.

Well.. I used to have a civic with the ACT HD in it.. which was nice.. I wouldn't say I'm rough on the car.. but I do get on it.. a few times a week.. and the typical times when people start messing with you... I like to play.. but have no desire to put too much into performance.. as I don't need any tickets...! and if I ever sell it.. I don't want it to be a leg workout to someone.. if you know what I mean.. buy if they are going to have the tranny down and doing a clutch.. I was thinking I might as well do a flywheel too if I can get a little performance out of it.. Only mod I've done is the K&N intake..

yeah I would just get an AP1 flywheel have it resurfaced and put that in while in there. Other than that just another oem clutch.

How many miles you have? I'm close to 49k.

I am starting to have the same problem while in vtec. It just won't grab for about 2-3 seconds. But normal driving it seems to do fine. When I race I power shift the crap out of my car, so I would imagine that is what is losing the clutch life the most . I imagine its on its last leg so I'm trying to baby it as much as I can until I get a Competition stage 2/lightweight flywheel deal from GT Motoring (he said $460 for both!). So that's what I'm saving up for currently. And I'm getting the Stage 2 because I'm supercharging in summer.

Anyway, I agree with Moddiction. If staying N/A, just get OEM and ap1 flywheel.
