Hmm... so the verdict is still out...

I guess, with all this header talk, is that the OEM header is pretty damn good and hard to improve on, even from the big companies like J's, ASM, etc...

Well I took the plunge on this one;
Ebay item # 180411290849

I am hoping to get to a dyno. I am planning on extending the secondary runners and having them merge to a 2.5" collector just long enough to have a 02 bung and flange up to my home made berk style exhaust with magnaflow mufflers. I will try to dyno before and after. It looks like some of the major builders are having success extending the secondaries (TODA & Hytech). We will see. I will also be cleaning up the welds, porting the inlet and well everything I can, and heat wrapping. I know it sounds like a lot but I am hoping for good gains at 20% of the hytech/toda costs.

What do you guys think?

Keep us posted... but I personally would not do it... I learned a long time ago 9 times out of 10, you get what you pay for. If it seems too good to be true it usually is.

I work with Chinese manufacturer's all the time and what I have learned is that well you do get what you pay for. The main difference is normally raw materials though. So I imagine the "stainless" is barely considered stainless and may be susceptible to corrosion issue more than stateside stainless. The welds are most likely robust but larger than required by a excellent welder. I plan on checking all the welds, coating the outside with a high temp phosphate or Xylan coating, and heat wrapping. I think all in all I can have a creative well put together excellent performing header for 150-200 bucks + a weekend of work.
