new Front Bumper & Paint
Went in to have my front bumper repainted and the guy advised replacement due to all the deep scratches and a few breaks.
To repair and paint the old one, I was quoted $500. A brand new OEM bumper, painted Silverstone by them will be $700.
I had my choice and said new.
I was driving home and thought about it and am not sure that is a good price, although the shop is very reasonable and does good work. A cheaper way would be an aftermarket bumper, but I am worried about quality and fit.
Any thoughts?

That's pretty steep for a bumper. I had my whole front end blended for 650 and it came kit perfect and my car was SSM one of the hardest colors to get right. It shouldnt cost you more then 300 to repair and paint the bumper and I don't see an bumper install costing 200 bucks either. If it were me I would put the bumper on myself but I'm more of an DIY person

buy a bumper and paint it yourself!!!!
or you can repair it with some bondo and sand it down.

or just sand it down primer and paint lol

The new bumper comes unpainted.
Painting it myself (silversstone) is out of my skillset.
Probably like me asking you to play a saxophone solo

it also depends on the condition of the bumper (like fitting and quality of the bumper)
to fix my ap2 bumper it was around 450 including filling in a crack and getting rid of all rock chips etc and respray
i'm not sure if them make oem replica bumpers so if it is a oem unpainted fitment should be perfect so that would be less labor.
i decided to get an amuse rep and the quota was around 600 for fitting and painting, but i got a friend to do it for me that works at a bodyshop to do it for 400. most of the labor was to make it fit, wish i could afford authentic

Sounds pretty good. Bumper paint job will vary from 300-600 or so depending on location and materials etc.
Going are market wouldn't save you any. They don't come painted either. Oem bumper costs about $250 new I think.

I was told the new bumper was $350, add painting and install and he gets $700.
Anyway, I'll have it back in less than a week. Can't wait. Nest, 4 new tires....
