Just picked up my first “stock” s2000, a 2007 nfr super clean! Went to do my first oil change and noticed that the previous owner cut the mounts for the subframe. Why would someone do this and what mods should I do to take advantage of someone else’s work haha
Low offset wheels don't have any effect on engine mounts. You could be running an ET +1 and it'll just mean the portion that bolts onto the hub is going to be thicker.

Lol, I'll take "keyboard warriors for $500, Jim"
At some point, your negative offset wheels will hit internal components. While you argue about +1ET wheels, there's some idiot trying to apply -45ET wheels. Cutting a spring perch isn't new, and I've never once heard of a reason to cut, other than wheels. If you have a better suggestion, we are all ears.

The answer remains the SAME, just corrected for MISUNDERSTANDING. Perhaps the previous owner ran a crazy width or offset that resulted in cutting the spring perch. Maybe I'm just the village idiot. Good with either, just trying to help.

The images are of engine mounts, not spring perches, and they look untouched
