I have the dual ovals also but with the round tips and it is raspy with a test pipe. It completly broke apart at the welds for me right where it splits into duals. so its useless right now. I heard it sounds better with a hiflow cat but since you said the stock cat makes it sounds raspy idk.

Your factoy exhaust (catback) has 2 problems, first is the 3 chamber mufflers, heavy and restrictive, the second is the split, they crush your split pipes (restrictive). here is a good solution on a budget. I use it, and it sounds great.

nice...makes it look like a quality expensive piece.....must be loud.....I'm looking to stay dual though. I did notice one of the pipes at the split is crushed. I doubt it will make a huge differance but Ill see what can be done

It is loud when you romp on it, but at cruise speed its very quiet. Plus it gives much better flow. Sounds like a screaming jap bike in VTEC! everyone looks lol

For true power you want to go with a 70MM.

A previous poster was 100% correct in stating that the main issue with our exhaust is the 3 chamber mufflers.

There is a guy down here in Miami who has a AP1 muffler that he had modified (what what expense I dont know) to be a straight through. For a stock muffler w/ a test pipe it was loud as hell but I dont know if it added any HP.

Does anybody know if the CR model is crush bent after the split? I was told the mufflers were double bypass instead of triple.

CR owners with previous s2000's, is the exhaust louder than a normal s2000? What if it has a test pipe (i know somebody's done it)

So you just cut it before the split and added a straight pipe and muffler? How loud is it with the silencer in it and how much was it to get done? Sorry for so many questions, but I'm poor and want to do something similar.

I have a Magaflow cat back system and I really like it... Great sound very deep. I noticed a slight gain. If you look around you can pick up the system at a good price.
I have the same, Magnaflow. It kinda surprises me more don't use it. Best sounding exhaust I've heard for the S. Noticeable mid gains as well. You can't bet the price either, I got mine for $575 shipped.
My guess is it's too name brand for most.

You are right>>> I love it!! Mine is 9 months old. looks great, sounds good, and the price is right... Easy to install around 1 hour on a lift. I guess people think of Magnaflow for big block cars.
