OEM hardtop hardware
Looking to get a hardtop. Wondering what exactly the downside is of not getting the hardtop hardware? Is it possible to buy it elsewhere ? I found a hardtop with no hardware and would like to get it.
^ They pop up on the forums every now and then. Not sure if you can still get them "new" would probably run you a lot more money than you'd like to spend on it.
For one, aftermarket hardwaare bolts your hardtop down (not sure if this applies to all of them) OEM hardware allows for a quick and easy install and removal.
I don't have experience with aftermarket hardware but it apparently doesn't seat the top well and causes creeking and squeeks.
I'd try and search for some oem hardware, if not try your luck with the aftermarket stuff.

So my buddy sold his S2000 and I bought his hardtop from him. He was using Izzy brackets. I purchased all the OEM hardware from Hardtop guy. It was expensive, but I want to use the OEM soft top if I can in the summer. The side catchers install was simple. I just need to install the latches onto the hardtop and install it. Hopefully you don't pay too much for the hardtop without the hardware because hardware is pretty expensive.
