Default OEM Hardtop issues

Alrite guys, through the numourous threads I've read still cant get any idea of the problem here.

been having this issue and I dont know what is going on!

Basiacally I installed the hardtop step by step through the instructions yet for some reason.

On the drivers side (right hand side, australian drivers), the rear of the hardtop is very loose.

I can run my fingers underneath the window and can lift the thing up. Yet on the passenger side, things are very tight and secured down.

I've tried adjusting the rear adjusters and to no avail.

Has anyone else ran into this problem? or know the solution?

thanks!

oem latches are adjustable, check under the panel(on the hardtop side) and make sure the 3 bolts holding the latch down is tight

when you said loose, you mean there is a gap?

i would take that panel on the hardtop off. put the hard top on the car with the latchs(unscrew the 3nuts a bit) move the hardtop where you want it and then tighten it down.

Remove the plastic trim panels on the inside of the hardtop and the interior of the car that cover where the brackets are and push up or down on the hardtop so you can see exactly what's loose. The rear quick release latches are very secure once they're in place so it shouldn't be moving at all.

you must have some bolts stripped on the latches where they attach to the hardtop or they were left too loose.

nah i had a play with the rear latches and thats all fine. Basiacally what is happening is that there is a finger gap along the edges of the hardtop on the rear right hand side. not too sure what is causing this, been playing with the rear latches and only can do so much as i had both latches loose on both sides to adjust it to sit properly.

Did you buy the top in the aftermarket or with your new car from the dealer? - if the former, I am thinking that perhaps the hardtop has become warped or twisted somehow. How was/is it stored - hanging from the 4 corners or on a factory dolly? Stored in a very hot environment?

Has your car been in an accident before? That's another possibility.
