Default OEM-like performance exhaust

I wish there was an exhaust manufacturer that would create an exhaust that sounds like oem, retains the twin-loop design, but made from higher grade stainless that would cut down weight. Am I crazy in believing others out there want this too?

While the oem exhaust is a pretty efficient well engineered design, it basically has no sound. It is made of stainless steel so that is pretty good, you would need to go to a titanium copy of it to save weight, so not likely to find anything like that.

I don't know of any twin loop exhausts, but the Fuji provides weight savings with somewhat of an OEM style exhaust, which would be your best bet. The Mugen exhaust would be a good substitute too with perhaps a bit more sound than the Fuji.

Fujitsubo provides weight savings with somewhat of an OEM style exhaust, which would be your best bet, pretty close to OEM sound, I don't know of any twin loop exhausts but the Fuji hits on all requirements you listed.

I had an authentic Mugen twin-loop on my 1999 Civic SiR (DOHC 1.6 8k rpm) and I loved it.

I've had the Nvidia Q300 on my S for years. Similar design to OEM with a little more sound but not obnoxious or coffee-can-like.

I had one too on my em1; awesome exhaust! I personally think that 4 bangers don't produce a very pleasant exhaust note. I think Honda engines are all about the induction noise. I also prefer to have a civilized decibel level so I can carry conversation, as well as avoid unwanted attention.

I've considered the Mugen and the Fujitsubo. The Mugen is the most appealing, aside from its straight-thru design appearance. I've been waiting for a used one to pop up on the forums, but not much luck. The Fujitsubo is also a good alternative, but I don't like the way it looks much either. Who knows, maybe I'll do a Fujitsubo and just weld the factory tips onto it.

For me, the main factor is the weight reduction an aftermarket exhaust provides. I would be completely happy with the oem exhaust- on a diet. The Mugen would provide the greatest weight loss, but at the greatest expense. The Fujitsubo and Tanabe would provide slightly less decrease in weight, but at a better price point. decisions decisions...
