Pardon my noob question as I'm looking for a replacement for my stock suspension in the near future. I'm curious as to why the Ohlins do not have external reservoirs in the rear like the stocks?

Bumpy road update:
This weekend on a drive to the coast with 5 other S2000s I had a chance to test the setup on some seriously bumpy roads. By backing off the rear dampers another two clicks everything was suddenly as near to perfect as any of us have any right to expect. The harshness I'd previously felt was completely eliminated. Without touching a thing I could happily live with this setup for as long as I have the car, which I expect to be a LONG time! That isn't to say that I won't continue to fiddle, but for me, 12 clicks front and 14 clicks rear is a perfect baseline to start from. I'm a happy guy!... Dean :drive: |
Another amazing thread from Gernby and co. I have yet to buy an s2000 but am slowly but surely figuring out exactly what I am going to do to it when I get it, and threads like these are the best.
Keep up the great work! |
I've bedded my brakes in that exact same part of Mexico :) Tough decision … these vs. AST 4150 is what I'm looking at now. Would probably run 650/550 springs on them as I'd like to better prep the car for NASA TTC time trials sometime soon.

Gernby thanks for this post.
I finally have bought another S2000 after being gone for 5 years. Been dumping plenty of time on the FRS now. Wanted to contribute to this thread because we just did the Road and Track install on the FRS, did interviews with Ohlins and more. And I plan on doing the same to the S2000 as well. Do you think the square 255 setup is actually better than a staggered after all of you time and running against other S2000s? |
cool video

I still have my old Saner bar from back in the day which I probably wont use on the AP2 (2005). But on Stock AP2 wheels 225F and 245R? (RS3)(Stock Suspension) Cant get an up to date answer on it. Whats your opinion on that? Want to run the car stock again for half a season before going to Ohlins. |
Man these look amazing. it might be a tough choice for next year. the price point is hard to beat and i would like a shock thats fairly easy to adjust. im not that great with suspension black magic so one knob is good.
@DEZORIS are you autocrossing? if so i would put that sway bar back on. |
Yeah going to be doing autox with frs and S2000. The bar will likely go back on but need to see how it is first few events before I install it. Was magic on the AP1 when I installed on AP2 not so much but its been 5 years now so dont know right now.
