so I have the stock plastic oil fill cap and I was wondering is there benefit to an aluminum oil cap

is it true that plastic caps can chip off into the engine

The only advantage to an aluminum cap is appearance (which is eye of beholder. Might just look Rice to some).

I've never seen a plastic cap chip. Even if it did, its plastic. The only harm it can do is clog the oil intake screen. It would take a lot of oil cap chips to do that.

What if the aftermarket cast aluminum cap chips (or even just induces wear particles from metal to metal abrasion)?

good wiper blades are more benefical than many mods people do to the S2000, or any car. A thread on good wiper blades is probably something many people would review

There can be a benefit. This almost ended my day until I found out my umbrella pipe cap fit into the oil filler hole with the help of a hammer. Separated on track and sprayed oil everywhere.

Obviously the cap was cracked prior and it eventually fatigued to failure over time, but it is worth checking every now and then.
