Default Oil Drain Plug Vavle

Hi all

i am thinking about getting a Oil Drain Valve from JS2K.

what i am wondering though, does this drain valve replace the sump plug or does it locate somewhere else?
If it does not replace the sump plug, then if you have a magnetic sump plug, the fact that you never plan to remove it would mean a build up of deposits?

anyone know?

Cheers
Dean

The drain is on the side and with the valve install you can reach it from the top of the motor.

I bought my fumoto valve from http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/ I chose to get the nipple version so I could put a tube on it and have it drain directly into an oil collection pan.

Yes, the oil drain bolt is on the oil pan which is underneath the car. The quickdrain valve is just that, a quicker way to open up the plug (no tools required). If you have an aftermarket intake that removes the large stock air-box, you can access the drain valve from under-hood.

there is a drain procedure video on their website which shows the drain in action. You magnetic drain plug will not be used with this device, there won't be any build up of deposits to worry about as a magnetic drain plug doesn't catch much.

Cool. That's all I was worried about. Cheers guys.
So going back to what you say, is it hard to get to if the standard airbox is still in place?

if you have long slender arms you could probably reach it from the passenger side.

I have the std filter with a stabilizer bar and have no trouble reaching the valve from under the hood. Kind of a tight fit for my arm but really no problem.

And I take it all of you who have the valve have never had any leaky issues?
