Default Oil Filter Retainer

Where can I get an oil filter retainer to ensure my filter doesn't come off while tracking?

Thanks.

There pretty easy to make with a large hose clamp and some wire.

Before you give it another thought you should really do a search yourself (in the racing forum) to see if this is really a rampant problem or snake oil, profit making parts. You can probably already guess the answer right?

Except that we had a friend catch fire at the track in front of us based on this particular issue.

Derek,
Rod has it right. Just get a large hose clamp to go around the filter and a wire to secure to a nut on the block.

Also, if you use the PCX filters, you shouldn't have an issue of backing off. Iain's was based onhis using a Mobil 1 filter that didn't have the metal/metal that the PCX provides

agreed though...a simple metal hose clap with some safety wired (wired correctly meaning to the right) will be your answer...no need to pay $35 bucks on an oil filter retainer....make it yourself...piece of cake
