I hate to thread jack but while we are on the subject, I bought a bottle of Mobil 1 LS 75W-90 for the differential. If I put that in, am I going to screw up my diff? Lot's of maintenance threads I read suggested it but maybe those were old. Any ideas?

And I thought it was just me.

I switched to Amsoil Signature 100% synthetic for the engine (from Mobil 1), Severe Gear 75w-110 for the Diff and did the Honda MTF for the tranny. Obviously the tranny change did help the snick snick some but the big difference was how the car drove. It felt completely different, peppier, smoother, and other adjectives.

I'm not usually prone to placebos, I honestly think the changes made a difference.

TBH, I'm quite shocked that so many people recommend the Honda V2 fluid. Coming from an '09 Civic Si known for it's dumb transmission issues, people hated the Honda fluid. Many, and I mean MANY, people switched to Amsoil and their transmission issues disappeared. I can attest to this myself. I had wicked 2nd gear grind after about 6k miles when redlining 1st and shifting to 2nd. Swapped to Amsoil, then later Redline and had NOT ONE grind up until I sold it with 22.5k miles on it. I just put Amsoil MTF in the S and it's like butter. Seriously, so easy to shift. You can practically shift gears just by looking at the stick.

I've found that Amsoil held up pretty well in the Si. SLIGHTLY notchier when cold in the winter but as soon as it warmed up, it was perfect. The only reason why I changed it so quickly was because I wanted to compare it to Redline.

i ended up finding a retailer by the name of Ricky Holly that was about 8miles from me that sold Amsoil products and he gave me a good discount on the stuff (wholesale price) a really nice guy too. if your in the Milwaukee, WI area and need Amsoil products his number is 262-510-5165.

anyway i finally put the stuff in my tranny and diff and what a difference! i am very happy with the end result shifts really nice and smooth, like a brand new car! but still has the "s2000 feel" to it.

thanks everyone for the help, i know i went with a very good product
