Default pad + rotor combos

Hi all, my front pads are due for a change, so i think its a good time to change all my pads and rotors.

im currently running brembo discs (slotted and cross drilled) up front with solid rear discs. not sure what pads are currently on the car.

id like to change to the same discs all around and am leaning towards project mu b-force pads (had these on my previous car and found them very good).

currently have stock callipers with no intention of changing, but i have recently fitted my goodridge braided brake hoses f+r, and will be running motul rbf600 fluid.

what are your recommendations? car is primarily a streeter, however i like good initial bite and the car is setup for the twisty stuff so i think the project mu pads are a good allrounder?

anyone know any sponsors/suppliers who can do me a package deal?

thanks,

John

i have no experience with project MU, I am on my 3rd set of axxis ultimate(which i ran in my turboed honda in the past, as well as a street miata now)

it's might be a good time to get rid of those slotted and drilled disk, which most likely to be machined by a shop from a brembo casted solid disk/blank. do your own search on drilled and slotted disk, ignore the fanboy comment if you care about safety and performance.

DOT 4 for street is pretty much a waste of money, if you drive aggressive enough to boil the oem dot3 fluid(which is an excellent choice for street) then you shouldn't leaving your house without a helmet and a big life insurance plan on your side.

dot 3 on the street last longer, cheaper to get and there's hardly any reason to jump to dot4 if the car never see any track action.

i already have the fluid so its ok. yea id prefer only a slotted rotor, not a fan of the cross drilled ones as i hear they tend to crack

Street?
Stock (or plain centric stock replacement) rotors, stock pads.

no im under the impression aftermarket parts are similarly priced to stock with more braking ability

ive been quoted $95 shipped for front project mu pads, how much are the oem pads going for?

I've tried some "high-performance street" pads (Hawk HPS) and found them to perform worse than the stock pads on the street and at the track.

I don't know anything about project mu pads, but of all the pads I've tried, the ones that are good for the track are too dusty/noisy/expensive for the street. I have run Carbotech XP8's and Hawk HP+ pads on the street for short periods of time between track events, and they've done OK, but better to run on OEM for dust/noise/$$$ reasons.

Front pads are $53.18 shipped from Majestic Honda.
$99.55 for both front and rear, shipped.

ditto on the hps hawk pads. i put them in my car front and rear. the only benefit i have seen is well, nothing. i dont drive hard enough to warm them up. downsides, the squeak until warm, see above, and they have less initial bite when cold, again, see above

back to stock once i wear these ****ing things out.

people compete with great results on stock rotors, and if hard core track then some track pads. on the street, i am of the STOCK STOCK variety now.
