Default Password JDM CF Intake

Bought this used off a guy for a helluva deal. Not sure if it adds any HP, but damn it sounds and looks nice. Open to opinions on a snorkel/ AUT style plate with the opening. Think it will help? I also plan to get a PWDJDM block off plate, the front side one to separate the body and filter of the intake from the block a little more.

nice, I would make some kind of heat blocking plate in front of the engine, so when the hood is closed it can seal off any warm air

Go ahead and buy the password JDM snorkel to go with it.

Your probably loosing power by exposing the filter to hot engine bay air if anything..

No, that area of the engine bay is pretty close to outside temp when moving, the radiant heat from the block and header would be what I am most worried about, which is why I want the block off plate.

*EDIT: However, I would get a snorkel if I could find a good deal on a used one. I asked Go Tuning about ordering the other pieces, the snorkel and 2 lids, and it was going to be $750, when they sell all 3 pieces for it for $850!

have you not thought about the air that passes through the front radiator?

Heat soak isn't an issue once the car is moving.

But I agree that you really need to complete the kit...they designed it that way.
