picking a clutch
Ok, I have been drawn between these 2 clutches for a long time. My car has been in storage for the winter and when it comes out I am having a clutch professionally installed as well as my s2k tuned with a VAFC2.
My s2k is an 01 with 85k with a Comptech SC with AC. The clutch started slipping when I put the blower on mid summer which is why I need it. I also bought a VAFC and im waiting to get it tuned once I get the new clutch, I might up the boost a PSI or 2 to the max I can without injectors.
Ok. Well the ACT is less expensive than the SOS and can hold more power. Also, everyone who is local and has an after market clutch has an ACT and says it is fine.
The SOS is about 200 more after bearings and stuff and doesn't hold as much power. I don't care about driveability (unless it is absolutely horrible, stock is fine and could be more firm) but I have heard good things about the SOS on here and I thought I would be much less likely to break the diff with a more mellow clutch.
So basically I want to know
1) would I be less likely to break my diff with SOS (I don't plan on launching and may get a new diff eventually, but I may down shift hard on the freeway and I autox/track the car)
2 If I get to 400RWHP, will the SOS hold ok? I don't see myself ever over 400WHP
3 Is the SOS worth the extra cash?
thanks for your help and patience. I have gone back and forth between the two and have people swear by each of them. I just want the clutch that is right for me because once it goes in I don't want to take it out. I also plan on getting a new flywheel with it.

I've heard many good things from SOS, so I would get one of those just from reading reviews. ACT isn't bad either.
Also, please don't tell me your are going to try and run your supercharger just tuned with a VAFC....

You can only pull fuel with a vafc. Please don't tune with it

Agree'd. With a supercharger you are going to be running lean, and a VAFC is only really good for subtracting fuel, which would be worthless to you. You need an EMS if you are going to run a supercharger.
Still drawn between the clutches. I'm considering leaving the stock clutch in to save money since aftermarket ones aren't much lighter.

Do I need the bearings and the tool with the clutch?
I noticed that it is hard to find an act clutch kit that has both the pilot and release barring. Are they necessary along with the tool?
I am also thinking about not getting the flywheel as I don't think saving 5lbs is really worth an extra 350. I would rather buy a smaller pulley and make more boost or buy a meth kit.
