Thumbs up Power Adders

Hey guys, this might seem like a dumb question but does any one know if maybe changing valve springs will have any affect on getting a little more power out of our cars, I mean i have been doing a lot of reading and everyone seems to say the same thing "that no cams available" for our cars seem to add any power right out of the box or even with tons of tuning, the reason i ask is there is a guy that works near me that has an S2k and bout a set of cams/valve springs and retainers but changed his mind about putting them in last minute and is trying to sell them off.

They dont "Add" power, when you have a built motor, it will help if your running higher rpm limit.

If you are a 00-01, a good mod is to get a VAFC/Greddy/AEM (order from cheapest to most expensive)

people usually replace the retainers it they believe the car was over revved during a downshift.

+1

No power, but better springs and retainers will provide better protection.

you would have to know more about the valve springs actually. If they are harder to compress then they will rob power through the valvetrain. If they are lighter and easier to compress then you could in theory pick up a few ponies.

regardless, it won't be worth the effort.
