Red face ProSport Gauges

I just installed my A-pillar i ordered from ebay for about $60 shipped, along with an oil temperature and oil pressure gauges.

Gauges: ProSport Performance serires white/blue backround.

Packaging:
I ordered it from Florida and came in the mail in 2 days with their flat rate shipping of $10. Very well packaged and sturdy.(no loose parts to move around or break)

Prices:
The oil pressure gauge was $42.99 without shipping and tax and the oil temp was
$39.50. I also bought the M20 sandwich plate $35.00 to do an easy settup with it.(Easy as it can be)

Instalation:
This was my very first time doing any type of wiring so it did take me long to get it done(4.5 hours estimated). The pillar was superglued after my hot glue started to peal off. Some back to black was used to clear off the marks off the pillar from super glue and everything looked OEM(the "mothers back to black" stuff works really well on ANY black plastic). The wires were a little short for the sensors but i had some extra laying around and simply tied them together and wired them under my intake. Leaking was a problem as i didnt tighten the sandwich oil filter adaptor on, so be aware of that. It requires a 26mm socket to tighten it down but i just used the oil filter to tighten it as far as possible. I also used this as a guide: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry13067039

So far i rate these gauges 9/10 only because my cold start up pressure is around 102 psi, and while driving anything over 2750rpm is at 100psi. I dont know if thats how our cars oil pump works but its very high compared to my friends' cars(oil is brand new Mobil 10w30). Anyone have any idea of the "correct" pressure, all same model cars should be right around eachother unless there is something wrong. Oil temp went up to 180 after a 10 min relaxed drive and so far thats all i have for recording my temp and pressure. Could be the gauge or maybe it need to be "broken in".

I got a set of those gauges and are pretty nice, think I bought the smaller premium oil pressure sender though...

One warning is to ensure that the oil filter stays tight, mine came loose BUT even when I took the plate out the filter still loosened (it was a dud filter tbh). stayed on there for couple weeks before coming too loose and some lovely oil came out and my rear end slid all over the place coming off a roundabout... btw if you want to turn off the sound hold the button while you turn on the ignition I think...

So do you think it is the filter that needs tightening or the sandwich plate? It's good now but before it was pooring oil I freaked out and shut off the car. Now, did you get a smaller sensor or actual gauge? And where did the oil come out of( I'm scared it will get too low and I'll mess up the engine) you said rear end...hmmm. Sorry I'm just a bit confused.

Will be adding this to my index thread, thanks for the input.

Since you dont know how to do any tests yourself (dido btw) i would go to a shop and have them test it to see the readings. And please check in with us in 2 months...

Well I had two broken filters in a row, they would come loose and also at startup not hold the oil so the light would stay on for like half a second while it flowed through the filter and engine again... This is most likely what caused the issue with it coming undone on the sandwich plate. Now that I have a new filter I am going to be putting it back on to test to see if that was the case...

The oil came out of from inbetween the filter and the sandwich plate at 3000rpm (peak pressure) at 6bar, I was driving at the time and was coming off a roundabout, oil went all over the floor and bay and my rear tyres caught the oil and I started to fishtail everywhere... I thought I had just written of the engine and was pretty fuming!!

Just make sure that the seal on the sandiwch plate to the engine is flat, oiled and then tighten it, after this oil up the filter o-ring and tighten again. I also made sure that the pressure sender was at the bottom so all the weight hung down so not to cause and turning moment on the sandwich plate going over bumps (I'm anal). I bought myself an oil temperature and pressure gauge for mine but bought the premium model I think so the oil pressure sender I got was a lot smaller than yours...

p.s. also my readings were roughly 90 deg and didn't change pretty much at all after giving it a fair amount of a blast!!

Then depending how cold your car gets the pressure at 3000rpm can be almost 7BAR but during normal operation, warmed up it should be around 6BAR and idle should be above 1BAR so like 1.1 or something like that... I made the warning beep come on at 0.8BAR which it may reach if you blast it for a bit then stop at the lights...
