Default PSS9 Question

Hey all. I have Bilstein PSS9s and was wondering do you guys think it's a bad idea to ride on full stiff setting all the time? I feel the coilovers are too soft. I had them at 5 out of 9 all around. 9 being the softest. Just put them on 1 all around and love the responsiveness. What do you guys think?

yup! What do you mean too soft? the bilsteins area ctually one of the STIFFEST suspension - what youre feeling is the dampening. its well thought out enough so it erases the 'harshness' of the ride. I dont see why you want 'harsh/stiff' as long as it handles properly

I disagree.

Fr: 345 lb with 85 lb helper springs
Rr: 285 lb

But to the OP

I wouldn't worry too much about riding around on full stiff. I did on my Koni's for 20k miles and they still worked great. Now i have the Megan Racing Coilovers and if I put them on full stiff my teeth will fall out.

What i mean by to soft is. they are to soft. lol. Before i had them on full stiff i had a decent amount of body roll. Now very minimal.

Should I just upgrade to KW v3's?

Shock valving isn't going to do anything about amount of body roll, just how fast the weight transfer happens. If you want less body roll, you need stiffer springs or swaybars. I'd think the swaybars would be more effective for what you're looking for. But I don't see any reason it would be bad to ride around on full stiff all the time, it's just a shock absorber.

BTW - What the hell are you doing on the street that you think there's too much body roll with PSS9's? Track that damn thing already, man!

your bilstiens can only handle so much. I believe someone in the RC forum has stiffer springs. From what I recall around 450's and he said it's about the max the valving would take.

I would do a search or post in the RC

BTW If you love 1 Setting, keep them there and enjoy.

They are a great coilover and I'm just beginnging to enjoy them, i'll let you know how it goes on the track at the end of the month.

They have good dampening qualities and did well on a shock dyno
