Default Question: Where to go from here

Hey everybody,

I just bought a well modified S2k and Im torn on where to go from here. Here is how my engine mods look.

J's 60RS (with the death rattle)
J's TP
T1R Grounding kit
J's intake? (it has the carbon horn but not the buldge intake chamber, It attaches to the stock intake elbow)
ORC 507 dry clutch

I have the suspension locked down (Tein Super Race w/dual EDFC's) but I want a little more power if I can manage it. What direction should I go? Cams? V2 intake(wouldn't mind more intake noise at all)?, VAFC?, or just wait for turbo cash?
thanks for any help you guys can give!

The intake u mentioned isnt a j's one, its the spoon chamber intake. In order to get a lil more power, you can go for the j's SPL headers which claim about 25whp increase with the j's TP and exhaust combination. if u want more power, jus go for a vortech SC and get a good tune up for around 300whp. IMO,anything over 300whp jus screws up the handling of the S.

when you get done, you may want a tune if you'll keep the same setup for a year while you save for FI

I think a lot of it depends on if the car is your daily driver and what you like doing in it most.

Do you want to race people? Do you want to track your car?

What you want out of your car will tell you what to do to it.

Get the AEM if you want more noise though. Should be around the same performance, if not better from the AEM.

If you have a plan to go FI in the future, get an AEM EMS rather than the VAFC. That is if you can get away with it in your state from an emissions stand point. An EMS will give you the most NA gains as well as allow for tuning big FI gains with a decent tuner.

There are no cams worth a damn easily available for the s2k. HyTech makes some cams that reportedly make power, but wait time for their products can be 6+ months, and we haven't seen dyno charts of their cams on an otherwise stock car.

A V2 will not buy you much more hp over the snorkle you currently have...1-2hp if any gain at all. If you live in an area with lots of rain, there are risks of hydolock...you will need to take precautions to avoid damaging your engine.
