Default Questions regarding cluster replacement...

Someone broke into my honda s2000 and stole the cluster (and clipped the harness wires). My car has been in the shop for quite a long time since they’re having trouble finding a 2006 Honda s2000 cluster. They had originally put in an ‘05 cluster and everything was lit up error on the dash.

Can someone enlighten me? I was told it’s nearly impossible to find because:
It is only supposed to be 7000 rpms instead of 9000?
It must be from 2006 specific, can’t be ‘05/‘07

Does anyone know where else to look? Or why are there an abundant of 05 clusters everywhere but not 06? I wanted to be informed on this, but am a little confused..

I believe redline is 8000 rpm on an AP2 cluster, 8200 rpm is the fuel cutoff point.

Found an AP2 2006 cluster on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-HONDA-...4383.l4275.c10

The redline on an AP2 cluster is highlighted as 8000 RPM, I think the 2006 and 2007 cluster is the same and were changed to a different layout for 2008-2009.

He mentioned it’s for that year, but it seems that people are saying it’s 8000rpm not 7?

If you’re this skeptical of the answers your fellow s2k owners give you, I’m not sure why you posted your question in the first place.

Your very first post says you had your S for “10+ years” I would imagine you know the redline rpm by now...

I’m not a car enthusiast and didn’t know about the following s2000s had until after my car was broken into recently. I’m not skeptical! Honestly just here to find out as much information as possible since the repairman is having trouble finding the part and I didn’t understand why he was saying 7000rpm. I had never taken note of the redline beforehand. Thank you for responding, I’ll let him know that you guys are saying 8000 redline for an 06!

AP1 had the flat temp and fuel gauge and higher redline.

04-05 had the lower redline, it also goes to half circles for the temp and fuel gauge. It also adds outside temperature.

06-07 has VSA, so it adds provisions for the VSA light, the plugs and pin-out are different. The redline is the same as the 04-05.

07-09 go to arcs for the temp and fuel gauge that continue the arc of the tach. Also adds TPMS and "power indicator." The plugs on the back look to be a similar shape, but I have not confirmed functionality if swapping to 06-07. Unfortunately I only have a 06-07 Electrical service manual, so I can't confirm pin-outs.
