Quick Question before I install springs
It can be done by yourself, but it's much more fun with other people. Try and find someone to help out-- the job will go much quicker and easier. And also, if you're doing it by yourself, you'll probably be forced to take off the endlinks on your rear sway.
Yes, it's relatively simple to do yourself.
Some tips:
You don't really need a spring compressor. But get one if it makes you feel warm/fuzzy.
Make it easy on yourself and unbolt the stupid sway bar. It's one bolt per wheel. Why monkey around with pry bars or having people stand on the hub or something? It's not even like the bolt is hard to get to.
The front UCA has to come out. Don't use a pickle fork. Undo the ball joint, leave the nut on about 2 or 3 threads. Hit the SPINDLE with a hammer right by the ball joint so it vibrates itself out of the ball joint. DONT HIT THE BALL JOINT. Hit the cast iron part of the spindle where the ball joint is located. THE SPINDLE. Not the UCA or the ball joint.
Make sure you clock your bushings.
Get an alignment after about 500-1k miles. A good one.
