Radium Engineering Secondary Catch Can

Radium Engineering Secondary Catch Can
Purchased the Radium Engineering secondary catch can kit month ago. Its been in the car since about December 15th or so with no issue so far. It has accumulated some oil inside so it's doing it job. I don't track my car so I doubt I'll have the need for a dual can setup. Nothing has vibrated loose or anything like that. I always recheck anything I install periodically afterwards. I was very impressed with this kit from the moment I opened the box. Kit was very nicely packaged. All parts bubble wrapped and individually bagged/labeled. All fittings are black anodized and packaged separately depending on where they go and detailed instructions were also included.
As you can see my kit was (at first) a custom kit using the secondary can hose route option but primary can bracket. Unfortunately, hoses can't be routed this way easily (if at all). I pm'd Radium, they immediately responded and shipped me a secondary can bracket no charge. Major to these guys for fantastic customer service there. They could have easily charged me since I ordered it this way.
Every part of the kit is very well put together. The brackets are powdercoated and have recessed bolt holes for the supplied hardware. The can fits in the bracket very well and is firmly held in place. I think what caught my attention the most were the threads on the cans dip stick and lower half. The threads are very finely machined. NO rough or tight areas while screwing either in. I tried to cross thread the lower half and was unsuccessful (probably better that I was lol). The dip stick was the same way. Every time I screwed it back in place, I had no difficulties what so ever; also the dip stick is full aluminum and oring'd also. The filter element is also encased in its own section of the can, not just thrown in the bottom. Look like it can be replaced if need just by removing the upper AN fitting.
Install was very simple and can be down by anyone with basic know how and hand tools. I used the following tools to install mine. Tool to the left is a hose removal tool. Not needed but makes removing rubber hoses simple. Also, I don't have a AN wretch so I used an adjustable but I wrapped the jaws with painters tape to keep from marring the black fittings that come with the kit. The instructions are very detailed and cover everything from telling you use thread locker on the can bolts to exact lengths to cut the supplied hose. The secondary can bracket bolts behind the drivers side fuse/relay box and throttle cable bracket.
The first issue I had installing was with one of the 10mm bolts you remove and than reinstall after fitting the can bracket. I found it to be to short to reuse so I replaced it with a slighter longer one. You may not experience this but I was unable to get it threaded do to the increased thickness of putting the can bracket there. Second issue was the supplied clamps for the hoses. After installing them, I was able to still pull the hoses off. I replaced both with worm gear clamps. I prefer the style provided with the kit but like stated, they just weren't tight enough for my liking. Other than those two issues, everything fit and went just fine.
Replaced this bolt with longer one
You can see the amount of oil built up around the PCV ( I have an ap2 but I borrowing a friends valve cover while mine is powder coated, reason for the push in PCV)
Clamps that I replaced
Before I decided to replace both clamps.
Final review, I would give Radium a 10/10 for excellent customer service. They always answered my questions quickly and no problems, hassles or crap attitude at all. The fitment and attention to detail of the can kit is amazing. Not once did I question why I spent my money on this. This is definitely a top notch product. I would rate the kit a 9/10 just do to the bolt and clamps. Again, no big deal but being a technician I have access to the above free of charge. Your average DIY'er may require spending a few bucks at the hardware store which they may not find right with the price you pay for this catch can. I will definitely be buying more from Radium and have my eyes set on their fuel rail next. Thanks for the awesome product guys.

I completely agree with you on OEM parts. Working for a Toyota dealer, I fight that battle daily. Some things just can't stand up to OEM. I've since install found some factory clamps (same style you provide) off a Sequioa evaporative emissions hose that fit the can hoses like a glove. I will eventually buy the Primary can. Waiting for your fuel rail release; then I'll buy both at once.
