Default random koni shock question

right now im lowered on skunk2 springs and koni yellows.

in order to go down to the lower perch on the shocks, i'd have to take them all apart again right?

its about a half inch lower on the second perch, correct?

thanks

-Nick.

If you jack up the car completely and the suspension sags to a point where the spring is no longer compressed, then you don't have to take it all apart. Since the spring is not compressed, there is no force pushing down, so you can pry open the C ring and move it down. Watch out for the weight of the spring though. That will fall due to gravity.

But if the spring is still compressed, then you should take the whole thing off or risk losing a finger...or worse.

S2s and the lower perch on Konis...that sounds like a recipe for disaster!

That's actually a good thing. If the spring doesn't stay partially compressed at full shock extension, it's not the right size spring. You don't want a spring to be able to slip off its mounts at full droop.

Yeah, when it's off the car, it's the spring pushing out and the shock pushing in, if that makes sense. But when the whole set up is on the car and you jack it up, you now also have the weight of the brakes and maybe some suspension. But then again, s2000 suspension is pretty tight, so it might also be pushing up.

Well, it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.
