Default Recaro SP-G in AP2

I'm about to pick up a set of Recaro SP-Gs for my AP2. Before I drop that ball, I'm just wondering if anybody knows how the seatbelt latch clearance is with those seats. I know certain seats won't work with the stock seatbelt. I know they'll work in an AP1, but I think the AP2 center console is ever-so-slightly wider than the AP1. If I buy these, I'm going to have to run the stock seatbelt brackets for a few months.

Anybody have any experience with them in an AP2?

I have the TS-G in my car (more reclined position of the RS-G) and I think the widths and everything are the same. The seat belt will not be hard to reach (I am using the stock belts and latches) if you have long legs and the seat is near the back positions. I have short legs so with my seating position I have to reach in between the seat and center console to grab it so I can hold it upright while I latch it (its not too hard but if I had fat hands or my legs were any shorter it would be a pain .

I have the SPG's too. I have one Mugen rail and one Recaro rail... both are a little difficult... but not too bad. The recaro rail is worse than the Mugen.

Another thing... when you get your SPG's, move the passenger seat all the way back and disconnect the slider. These seats rub the door panel. This way you only have to deal with one dented door panel instead of 2.

Anybody have any pictures of them in an AP2? I had Bride Pros in there before and they were almost impossible to latch.

I made extension brackets that hold the latch.

The leg bolsters on the Pole Positions are lower than the SPG's so it is easier to get it to fit with yours.

What material did you use for your extension? What rails are you running??

Here are a few pics of my TS-G (same seat just with a different seating position) Hope they help

This one may give you an idea of the gap, but its still pretty hard to see Sorry these are the only pics I have.

Also if you still have the hooks in the car for the soft top cover, be careful when sliding the seat forward and backward they can grab on to the seat and damage it if your not careful

mmm, the leg bolsters are lower but the seats are wider in the hip area thus making it even harder to get the seatbelt to work with other seat rails (I had both SPG and PP). As for rails, I used Taitec on my SPG and Buddyclub for my PP. I just used a steel bracket and drilled holes into it.
Are there different Pole Position seat configurations? VoodooS2k has the Pole Positions and they are pretty easy compared to the SPG to latch even without an extension bracket.

And to the OP, if you are thinking of running harnesses on the street it is illegal. You might want to keep your stock belts in no matter what you do. On top of that, if you think latching a stock seatbelt with an SPG is going to be interesting... wait until you have to secure your harness each time. It gets old, fast!!!
