I picked up 130 db replacements for the very wimpy 100db's that are standard. Now I can scare the shit out of people who cut me off. There are 2 horns in the S. one is under the hood on the left side of the engine bay. The other is behind the bumper. 01-03 use a diaphram type and 04 on use a cone style. As I understand there is really no difernace.

Based on the above video posted, the Hella Supertones don't sound as good as the newer AP2 horns. They seem to give a "MEEP MEEP" sort of sound, just louder. It looks as though the Piaa ones are nice, but I hope they're not those big horn looking things.

Supertone is much louder than AP2 US. No contest. Soundfiles have no range.

Is it really? I've asked this question a bunch of times over the past 3 years on multiple forums and nobody has been able to answer it haha. So newer AP2 horn versus Hella Supertones....and the Hella wins, eh?

Nice....maybe I'll pick up a set. Thanks!

As someone who has owned both a 2002 and a 2006, there is no comparison between the two horns. AP1 horns are pretty sad. They make a squeak that doesn't grab any attention. My horn now is amazing. In fact, that is one of the things I noticed first when I got my new car.

I ran the hellas from susquehanna on a rally car, and you couldn't stand in front of the car because of the db noise.

Can you just take the old model year 2000 AP1 horn out and then put in the AP2 horn and connect the wires and all will be good ?

I found that the two horns are quite different.

The AP1 is a weak little motorcycle horn

and the ap2 is an airhorn:
