Default Replacement Leather Seats

Anybody know where I can get a good price on some after market leather seats? My drivers side leather seat is pretty messed up. The price I have been quoted here locally is $1,015 geez! Ideally I would like to buy the replacement leather oem seat and have a local guy install them for me. Any help is appreciated. Btw, I have a 2005 Honda S2000 with solid black seats.

Leatherseats.com sells replacement leather, I'll be honest though I'm waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig before I buy. From their site it looks like good stuff and well fitting, a lot better looking than seat covers.

Why not get some of these from Tommy? According to many reviews, these are awesome:

You can search Clazzios as an alternative. It's a great fitting seat cover and will save a bunch. I would never go back to stock leather as the covers make the seat well.....just feel better. They are available in a wide varity of colors. Check the Exterior/Interior Sales Forum.

I don't know how you guys/gals get into your cars, but my technique is to sit the bum down in the seat first and then spin, swinging my feet and legs up over the threshold and into the footwell (bad knees don't allow the "insert one leg first" technique). I would be very surprised if a "cover" would ever permit this entry approach - you'll spin it off the seat every time! Look at replacing the full leather. I am not sure how Leatherseats.com sells leathers for so little - I guess because you are going to do the installation or have it done by a third party (additional $$$). Getting the bolsters on the seat and back sides properly secured would be the hard part.

I dont have a pair but judging from the photos on their website they look more like a custom seat condom. They look like they would handle your ingress/egress technique. I've been debating picking up a set... lots of good reviews but I'm still not 100% sold on em.

That's how I get in as well. I have Clazzio seat covers and it does not affect it any differently than if the seat was stock. The seat covers completely cover the entire seat and get tightened. They are 2 piece covers.

I may be the only guy who is not satisfied with the clazzio seat covers. It came with car when I bought my s2k used, so i cannot comment on the feel of clazzios compared to oem.
But personally, I would much prefer a "replacement" leather rather than a cover up. If anyone know of a good reupholstery shop near chicago or anywhere in the midwest area, please PM me.

Roadwire makes a replacement leather kit as well, I was quoted $1,100 locally for the kit + install for both seats. They have kits for AP1's and AP2's (at least up to 07, not sure about 08/9)
