Default Replacement seat options in 2024

Would like to replace both seats in a 2008. Not tracking but would like something that sits lower than stock. Did some searching, are Recaro Pole Positions the easiest replacement seat option?

Recaro PPs with PCI sliders are the BEST replacement option. If I had black interior I'd get ABE poles in black leather....would look like a nearly factory option and would seat a slightly wider range of asses.

I had no idea there were multiple Pole Position models, ABE and FIA, but I couldn't tell the difference in Recaro's catalog besides their weight and certifications.

Is there a preferred Recaro reseller for the S2k community? I'm in the DC area.

ABEs are slightly wider around the hip area - they can be considered more of a road-going version as opposed to the FIA cert ones that hold you tighter.

I used a guy on FB - Will Long. He's a distributor and he got me the hookup on my PPs and PCI sliders. Other than that I don't know anyone specifically, but I can vouch for Will.

I bought an ABE a few years back and wound up selling it. Really nice seat, but I have a slim build and found myself with a LOT of room to slide around before the bolsters did much bolstering.

I wish I was able to get ABEs for my red interior but they don't offer them in any form of red....So I got FIA Jersey Red mesh as I didn't want to pay for reupholstery. Yeaaaa......I'm 5'9" with a roughly 34 waist and these seats turn me into a ****in mermaid when I sit in them....I got some decent size thighs and my legs are squished together. Oh well, just gotta lose some more weight I guess lmao

Is the ABE physically wider/larger outer dimension than the FIA?

.4" wider at the bottom seat cushion according to Recaro's specs, so just a touch wider at the hip. Other dimensions are the same from what I can find online.

Has anyone come up with a "solution" for the passenger weight sensor in 06+? Did some people move the OEM seat rails over to the PPs? I rememeber reading something like this a while ago. In the 06+ there is a passenger weight sensor you need to factor in that will throw an SRS light if you just remove the seat and use an aftermarket rail. I recently purchased some ABE PPs for my miata from maar-shop.com. They were the cheapest I found and are straight from Germany. Not sure how they compare $ wise to Kyle's contact.

Only solution I know of is to swap the sensor over from the oem seat and it requires quite a bit to do so, have to weld it to the new rail. Isn't an "easy" way.
