Default rick's jdm smoked side markers gap?

Hi Guys,

I just got the jdm smoked sidemarkers from Rick's. I put them on and they went in very easily (although I broke off the tabs on the stock ones while putting them in) I put the one labeled R on the pass side, L on the drivers side. Once installed there is a small gap between the fender and the side marker, I can fit my fingernail in between them. Is this normal or did I mess something up? the slanted part of the sidemarker is facing towards the back of the car.

Thanks,
Tom

I checked the ones on my car and they fit tight against the fender. Sound like you just haven't snapped them in all the way. You should install them by sliding them in towards the front until they snap in tight. If you can't get them to fit properly, call Rick's. They are great about helping with problems.

They're snapped in all the way, maybe I'm just being anal about it but they're not 100% flush on the top (they are on the bottom). Anyone else have any experience with these?

They're installed correctly, I've tried switching them and putting them with the slanted part in front and in back, same gap.

Hmmm. I have the clear ones, and they are FLAT against the fender. Since you swapped them over to the other side (I was going to suggest that) and that did not work, I would contact Rick's.

Good luck with everything.

I just installed clear ones today (ordered last week; arrived yesterday). I see the same thing only to a lesser extent. There isn't a large gap, but there's a slight one. Interestingly enough after installing the first marker and noticing the slight gap, I compared it to the OEM amber one on the opposite side and the fitment looked the same between the two.

If you contact Rick's, let me know what you hear, 'k?

They are aftermarkets and not OEM so there might be some slight discrepancies. Did you check to see if there was any flaring of plastic from the mold on the backsides? Maybe you might be able to sand it down a tad bit. These have the metal clips right and not the plastic ones?

I'll check to see if theres anything to sand down... these are the ones with plastic clips... everything on the backside looks identical to the oems although I'm not sure these are made by honda.
