I would just upgrade to the ap2 wheels if you don't want anything to aggressive. There is more then one version to pick from as well.

OEM 17" wheels work very well. The stagger is essential to proper handling. Too much tire on the front compared to the rear acerbates oversteer. Going any wider than the OEM 215mm on the front typically requires buggering the fenders.

Congrats on your S2K! Welcome to the community of awesome S2K enthusiasts
As said above, OEM AP2 version 1 rims rock. I have them on my AP1 and they look great while allowing for wide tires to be fitted. There are so many great rims to choose from in the aftermarket world and I'm also keen on a set sometime in the future but for now, get yourself the AP2 V1's (from '04-late '05) and slap 'em on.

I didn't know that about the front tire size being limited to 215 without rubbing. So just a 10mm increase to 225 will cause them to rub against the fenders?

Umm no... Plenty of people running 255 square. I'm pretty low and run 235's in the front with 15mm spacers without rubbing.

Check out this guide.

This thread would probably better in the wheel/tire subforum.

I'm running 245/40/17 all around with 9 inch rims (63 offset) with no rubbing, lowered about .5 inches on Koni yellow (lower perch) with CR springs. I rubbed a little bit on 255 star specs on the front with -2.0 camber.

I added a whiteline front sway bar and now I like how it drives more than my original staggered set up.
